T0 begin with, I would like to take a brief look at the history of the radio
and the activities on the amateur radio and the radio Listeners, especially the
shortwave radio listeners.

Marconi's invention of the radio opened a whole new world to the amateur
radio and radio communications enthusiasts. During the life of the radio,
many amateur radio operators and radio listeners have been imprisoned or
otherwise silenced by various political regimes in different countries of the
world. The radio has played, and does play, a very imporatnt role in
alerting and informing mankind. Thus various regimes In the world have
suppressed the activities of radio amateurs, shortwave (SW) radio
listeners, publishers, and radio receiver and transmitter equipment innovators
by means of so-called legislations designed to restrict or completely ban them.
The history of the Weekly Radio Guide (WRG) came of age in 1995 when
it went on the world wide web (www). Its principal objective was to publish
a free WRG - akin to the TV Guide -- providing the listeners with an
almost complete list of the AM, FM, SW, cable and internet radio stations.

Weekly Radio Guide AM Stations
The WRG section covering the AM or the medium wave band was very
interesting and, in some cases, unbelievably so to the AM station listeners
who found they could receive AM signals throughout the night from most
stations broadcasting on that band even from very distant locations. that
was new which radio listeners in Edmonton, Alberta are able to receive
Am signals from stations as far afield as southeastern Canada&United
States.
